West Midlands Senior Leadership Programme focuses on the concept of ‘leadership’ rather than management. Seen as key role and enabler in the transformation of social care and health, the ‘transformational’ programme looks at the values and behaviours that drives those leaders to address the ‘wicked issues’ and change the status quo in the sector, for the better.
The programme ultimately addresses the core purpose of why leaders want to ‘lead’ change and challenges them reflect on their role and purpose.
There are 3 elements to the programme:
- Political and corporate working - working in a political environment and being aware of the boundaries and opportunities leaders can utilise within their role.
- Personal Impact – looking at how leaders present and conduct themselves
- Strategic performance management - how do we marshal/oversee the tools we use, to see if we are meeting our purpose
