Corporate Performance Improvement

Homepage » Our Work » Corporate Performance Improvement

A projected budget of £3.6 million has been allocated to Corporate Performance Improvement over the period 2008-11.

A key aspect to overall improvement is that given through corporate political and management leadership of organisations and the challenge presented by the new performance management framework. CSR 07 presents national priorities through the Public Service Agreements; the National Indicator set and the partnership owned Local Area Agreements. The challenge faced concerns closing the gap between actual performance and the perception of the public; the move from output and service specific measurement to an outcome focus based upon place and to do so through a sector led improvement agenda – hence Regional Improvement & Efficiency Partnerships.

Summary of regional objectives:

  • A core capacity to support underperforming authorities in the Region or those at risk;
  • A Region of high performing LAs – no poor, weak or 1 Star authorities by 2009;
  • Excellence in the Use of Resources;
  • All authorities having a positive direction of travel by 2011;
  • A region of high performing Adult and Children’s Services;
  • Strong support for Innovative Capacity in driving performance improvement in line with the strategic priorities of the National Improvement & Efficiency Strategy.
