One of our major objectives is to support strong partnerships in localities. IEWM has provided a strong framework of support to all 14 localities and partnerships in the West Midlands since April 2008.
In summary the locality and partnership model consists of the following core support to each locality:
Delivery Support - Each partnership has a Place Advisor attached to provide a block of support for delivery planning. This support has been typically used to develop the partnership, its delivery systems, and to help develop delivery plans.
Find your Place Advisor here.

Knowledge based products - An extensive programme of networking and ideas sharing on key issues between key players has been supported in the West Midlands.

Worklessness and economic assessments - The West Midlands has taken the lead nationally in agreeing worklessness networks in each region. In the West Midlands, the network is providing a real catalyst for all agencies to work collaboratively.

Apprenticeships and work experience - As part of our leadership programme we are also working with authorities to deliver over 140 new apprenticeships and 170 work experience placements in 2010 to help address workslessness and skills shortages. We have developed a guide for authorities to support and encourage further take up of apprenticeships nationally.

Climate change - Funded by DEFRA and CLG, the programme has had a major effect in the West Midlands. It has enabled practitioners and senior managers from the West Midlands to meet with others in a structured manner to identify and share innovative projects to climate change and to consider new approaches. The programme provides individual support, workshops, and action learning sets.
