Partnerships, Innovation & Efficiencies in Highways
| Event : | Partnerships, Innovation & Efficiencies in Highways | | Date : | 29 October 2009 | | Type : | Efficiency & Procurement | | Details: | 29 October 2009, Austin Court, Birmingham
Over 100 delegates arrived in Birmingham last week to hear from the Midlands Highway Alliance (MHA) about the lessons learned from the improvement and efficiency programme. The MHA is an alliance of 24 Highway Authorities in both the East and West Midlands focusing on new ways of working to deliver sustainable service improvements and efficiency savings.
Exhibitors including Amey, Atkins, Balfour Beatty, Enterprise, Ringway and Tarmac all benefitted greatly from networking with delegates at their stands throughout the day.
When asked what they would take away from the event, some delegates said:
"(I will) share Malcolm Dawson's vision of Customer Satisfaction and the related performance indicators." - Oxfordshire County Council
"Reconfirm our strategy in Highways (Lean); verify some facts - finance systems; contact one or two presenters to gain further information." - Walsall MBC
"Carry out a series of actions to further explore best practice in delivery of efficiencies and service improvements. This will be done in conjunction with council colleagues and contractors." - Telford and Wrekin Council
