Looking to the year ahead
2010-01-22
Looking at the year ahead public services are facing unprecedented challenges. Current high levels of national borrowing and debt mean that the government has to achieve rapid change in how public services are funded and delivered.
Improvement & Efficiency West Midlands’ (IEWM) purpose is to help support councils and partnerships to respond to this hugely challenging agenda and build the skills and capacity needed. The approach is very much about collaboration and shared learning. IEWM is supporting a range of exciting programmes and initiatives to support all local authorities and partnerships in responding to the financial and delivery challenges facing public services, but also to help partnerships respond to the challenges, particularly the recession and the impact this is having on all aspects of life in our communities.
Our interim annual report for 2009/10 has been submitted to CLG and a copy is available to view from our website
